What is the function of good design?

It is to lower the effort needed to get things done.

People will trust companies with bad logos, browse confusing websites, use inconvenient software, and read poorly-set books.

But I don’t design those. I design intentional products that serve a purpose and build flexible systems that support them.

Visual identity

I work with emerging brands and design with flexibility and scalability in mind.

Pilcrow wordmark above a wooden-handled magnifying glass
The Family Letter: a printed newsletter half out of its Skyland Family envelope
The Skyland membership eligibility screen: who can apply, and the four member types to continue as

Editorial & Layout

The design of books and magazines extends way beyond the page layout. Everything comes together at the printing house and I care deeply about the entire process.

An open spread from the Viscri book: a drawn goose on a blue field facing a photograph of two children by a village house
Three Skyland brochures open on a navy field, two on white paper and one on black
An open spread from the Viscri book on a dark field: an illustrated ribbon tree facing a chapter opening, with stacked spreads fanned behind
Hands holding the open art catalogue: a line drawing facing a photograph of a bronze sculpture
The catalogue held open on a spread: a sketch of a figure on a plinth facing the finished bronze

UX & UI Design

I work across the full product lifecycle, from research to delivery and beyond. Alongside stakeholders and engineers, I build products that make sense.

A dashboard of listings open on a MacBook, seen at an angle
The Skyland membership application on an iPhone, on an orange field
The Bookster shop open on a laptop, with a stack of books beside it
Bookster pick-up point picker: a modal listing collection addresses in Bucharest
